Brenda started working in the Public Sector in 1990 in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs in the Inspectorate Unit and subsequently in the Accounts Section. She was transferred to the Ministry of Finance Accounts Section in 1993. Having a love for accounting, she journeyed to St. Thomas University, Miami Florida where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting in 2000 and a Master’s Degree in Accounting in 2001. She has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with the Florida State Board of Accountancy since 2004, and a Chartered Accountant with the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA) since 2011. She was appointed Deputy Auditor General in May 2018 and assumed the role of Acting Auditor General of The Bahamas on April 8, 2024.
